How to Deal With Circumstances

The other day I happened to open “Seven Steps to Inner Power,” one of the books my mentor, Dr. Tae Yun Kim, has written, to the above passage.
And it really hit home to me.
When I look back to what I was going through when I first had a chance to meet Dr. Kim, I see now that there were two very different paths in front of me.
At the time I was 25 years old and I’d just separated from my soon-to-be-ex husband. Even though, in hind sight, it was a “going-to-fail-anyway” marriage, at the time I was devastated.
Two paths were ahead of me– 1) wallow in depression, or, 2) rise above it, and overcome it.
When I look back, I see how easily I could have let the circumstances I was in overwhelm me, and have taken path #1.
What put me on path #2? Dr. Kim’s life story of overcoming incredible odds and challenges, and her, spirit, energy, and guidance. Without that, I would have been overwhelmed, depressed, despondent for months, if not years.
At the time, I had no idea what was ahead in my life, but I strongly felt that if Dr. Tae Yun Kim could have gone through such an epic-lly painful childhood and challenging life – and yet today be so positive, strong, happy, successful, and living her motto, “He can do, she can do, why not me!” Then I too could to, inspired by Dr. Kim, ultimately rise above any challenges that came at me..
